The Word Network, established in February of 2000 by Kevin Adell and the late Franklin Z Adell, has become a prominent African-American religious network renowned for its diversified Christian programming. Over the years, it has distinguished itself as a preferred network for African American audiences, showcasing ministries, Christian-focused television content, and gospel music.

Operating from Southfield, Michigan, The Word Network broadcasts its content in over 200 countries worldwide, captivating millions of viewers across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. In the United States alone, the network is accessible in nearly 93 million households through various cable operators like DirecTV, Comcast, and Time Warner Cable. Moreover, it reaches an additional 9 million homes through Sky TV in the U.K. and provides services to around one million military personnel stationed in over 65 countries.

The Word Network's broadcasting technology has evolved significantly since its inception, enabling terrestrial and satellite viewers to access its programs on the network's website via internet streaming. Furthermore, it has collaborated with selected airline carriers to offer "In Flight" services to thousands of travelers daily.

Featuring a diverse array of ministries including prominent figures like Bishop TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer, and Joseph Prince, The Word Network recognizes the importance of music in the Christian faith. The channel offers a rich lineup of gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, and Donnie McClurkin, alongside newer talents like Wess Morgan and VaShawn Mitchell.

The Word Network has been pivotal in live coverage of major events worldwide, broadcasting national conventions and conferences such as The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and The Church of God in Christ Holy Convocation. Additionally, it has sponsored and participated in various events like The Merge Summit in Los Angeles and The Donnie McClurkin Perfecting Music Conference.

In May 2012, The Word Network completed a substantial expansion at its international headquarters in Michigan, incorporating cutting-edge production facilities and executive conference rooms to cater to its growing audience base.

The Word Network's commitment to providing quality Christian programming has solidified its position as a leading platform for spiritual enrichment and gospel music entertainment.
